Soooo Deco, tall and wide, "architectural" Candleholders. The are 12" tall, 16-1/2" from one outside of the foot to the other. Each has a metal ring attached at the very underneath center of the bobeches, presumably so you could hang something if you choose. These are quite striking; imagine them with candles. There's quite a bit of varnish loss, visible in the photos, but no real damage. A little sanding, cleaning, and revarnishing might do wonders. c. 1920-1930. Require a large box. $1... Antique Russian paper mache Owl has texture throughout and has hand placed sequins to represent the features. Looks very similar to bead-work but is not. The lid is the owls head with intricate detail around its eyes and crown. The canister has shows the wings, feet and tail scrolled into the all-over design. (At very top of head 1/2 row of reflecting sequins are missing)

This extraordinary work of art is not only "lacquer artwork but also has the look of enamelware. All the details are outlined in gold and the scene depicts five women frolicking by a stream. The title is ÊÀ×ÅËÈ (Translation “Swing”). Although the piece has some surface scuff and the backing is worn the glow of the women dressed in red, gold and yellow radiates from the high gloss black background.
