This was in a cedar chest at an estate, and had been packed away since 1953. Made of old silk scraps, and mostly emroidered with a feather stitch on the seams. Probably 1/4 needs to be embroidered. Pins are still in it, and old newspaper that it had been folded on to keep it neat. Cotton batting is pinned and basted on. Shown in photo it is on a queen size bed with ample hangover on the sides. No holes or rips, as it was never completed, just put away.

Here is an extra nice set of 2 vintage hand crocheted off white or ecru colored doilies. These beautiful oval doilies are the same pattern, color and thread, but they differ in size. One is approximately 19.5” by 15”, with the other about 16” by 12”. These vintage doilies look as if they were never used or displayed very gently. Here is a pair of extra nice vintage hand crocheted pillowcases. The design is a series of 4 diamonds with pastel flowers. These are done in white with flowers in pastel shades of pink, blue, green, peach. The edging also shows pastels in yellow and lilac in addition to pink, blue and green. This matching set is in gently used vintage condition. I don’t see any snags or flaws. I recently found a lot of linens, hankies and doilies in excellent condition at an Estate Auction. Estate find that has been packed away since 1959. This set of great terry cloth kitchen towels are in the original box and packaging that they were in the day they were purchased. Handmade tatting is used to decorate this set of three tea towels. Two are matching 18" x 11 1/2" Cannon towels and tatted flower motifs were appliqued to towel. The third is a handmade towel measuring 19 1/2" x 14" with a strip of tatting sewn to the hem and crewel-type embroidery of two flowers just above.

Very nice set of four off-white linen look placemats and napkins with with light sage/celery machine stitched edges. Placemats measure 17" x 11 1/2" and have two rows of machine chain stitch in metallic thread. Napkins are 11 1/4" square.
Set is in very good condition with no stains. The only mark is a faint '2.00' on one placemat hand written in off-white.... Click for details

This blue tea towel is a wonderful example of fine handwork. It is scalloped and finished by hand with a fine blanket stitch on both ends with machine-stitched hem on sides. Detailed cutwork of a flower and leaves, and fine embroidery on one end. Could also be used as a dresser scarf.

These tea towels are truly amazing examples several forms of handiwork - hand applique, drawn threadwork and fine embroidery.
Everything is done by hand except three side are hemmed by machine using very fine stitches. The fourth side was hemmed by hand using a tiny blanket stitch to bind the appliqued colored material to the background.

This is a hand crochet doily white with red roses and contrast. It would look nice on a long table. It measures about 28" long. No snags or bad spots, and no stains. One end looks smaller in the photo, but its not. It was the way I took the photo.
