An extremely classy pair of earrings! They are SIGNED "S.A.L.", the first signature used on SWAROVSKI jewelry pieces sold in the USA. Although, I read that SWAROVSKI jewelry was first sold at home parties (USA) and called "Comet" jewelry(uncertain of the name, but if memory serves me correct). The crystals are pave' set and each crystal swirl is against an ivory enamel background. Each swirl of crystals has fifteen or more stones in it. Egg-shaped pearls and crystal beads have been used in making this elegant, simple necklace. Smaller pearls allow adjustable lengths. The "j" hook is marked JAPAN. From Vienna, Austria prior to World War II. This was originally silver plated, now the mellow color of the brass predominates.
