Bed warmers were a common household item in places with cold winters many years ago. A bed warmer consisted of a metal container, usually fitted with a handle and shaped somewhat like a modern frying pan, with a solid or finely perforated lid. The pan would be filled with river stones preheated from the fireplace and placed under the covers of a bed, to warm it up before use. We got this bed warmer at an estate sale. I know nothing about the history of this particular item.  This... Click for details

Coin Silver Teaspoon - Clinton County Agricultural Society Fair Prize

Offered is an American coin silver teaspoon by Robert and William Wilson of Philadelphia, circa 1825-45, stamped CLINTON CO. to denote that this piece was used as a prize at an agricultural fair in Clinton County (not sure which state). I've had two other pieces so stamped, and eBay recently had a beaker with the same stamp; all were made by R. & W. Wilson. It appears a wide variety of silver was given away at this county fair, wherever it was held. This teaspoon also bears a period engraved... Click for details

You are buying a pair of vintage black Mammy & Chef stove top range shakers. They say "SALTY" on the lady character, and "PEPPY" on the chef character. Condition is excellent except for a tiny paint nik on the back of the head in the hair area of PEPPY, and I do mean tiny. There is also a 3" brown line on the back of PEPPY'S leg. The paint is very bright and shiny, and PEPPY still has his original neckerchief.

Framed prints by well know western artist Frank McCarthy. In my opinion his artistry was just as wonderful as the Remington western prints. These are framed in nice 9 1/4" x 11 1/4" oak frames, and ready to hang and enjoy. Excellent condition. Frank McCarthy passed away in 2002 but left images of his wonderful western art for future generations to enjoy. Selling as a set. Hard to see, but one has indians chasing a train, One has a stagecoah scene, abd the others have bandits on horseback.

This is a neat find. An old metal water filled bed warmer, with a brass screw cap. Appears to be all hand forged. These were filled with hot water and slid under the covers to warm the bed. Some were even filled with oil and heated as oil kept hot longer. In Japan they call them a Yutampo, and use them for heating the beds as Japan winters are extremely cold. This one is 12" in diameter and is 6" thick, plus the nice thick bail handle. Original brass screw on cap. This would be nice to even use... Click for details
