This is a Yokut round basket, California - late 19th to early 20th century. It is made of coiled willow and sedge root. The hourglass design is interspersed with stacked diamonds made of redbud and outlined in black brackenfern. There is a band of diamonds made of redbud and brackenfern at the top edge. Dimensions: 7 3/8" x 2 1/2" high. Condition: Good. 1 3/4" of winding is missing from top of rim, a few small areas of wrapping are also missing. Otherwise, this is a beautiful basket in Good Cond... This is a Yokut cooking basket with bottleneck, California - late 19th to early 20th century. It is made of round coiled willow and sedge root with eight pointed stars in contrasting black of brackenfern. Dimensions: 4 7/8" x 4 5/8" x 2 1/2" high with a 1/2" neck. Condition: Very Good. Note: This tightly woven basket was filled with acorn mush and water to which very hot stones, heated over campfires, were added to cook it.

This basket is a western Yokut round basket, California - late 19th to early 20th century. It is made of coiled willow and sedge root. It has 3 rows of staggered black diamonds made of brakenfern forming a rattlesnake pattern. At opposite sides of the basket, interspersing the rattlesnake pattern, are two vertical bands of stacked diamonds with crosses in the interior of each. They are also made of brakenfern. Dimensions: 7 1/8" x 2 5/8" high. Condition: Very Good.

This is a cool old primitive wood butter paddle with all the great marks of use, one small ding on the edge and no cracks. It measures 8.5 inches long and 4 inches wide. This is the kind of utensil that was used on the farm for working the liquid out of homemade butter. This is a great old piece.

This is a neat find. An old metal water filled bed warmer, with a brass screw cap. Appears to be all hand forged. These were filled with hot water and slid under the covers to warm the bed. Some were even filled with oil and heated as oil kept hot longer. In Japan they call them a Yutampo, and use them for heating the beds as Japan winters are extremely cold. This one is 12" in diameter and is 6" thick, plus the nice thick bail handle. Original brass screw on cap. This would be nice to even use ... Click for details

Two matching hand thrown and painted pottery candlesticks by Williamsburg Pottery of Virginia. These have a light gray background and pretty cobalt blue leaf accents and banding around the top. Signed. They are in great condition, no chips and no cracks. They measure 4.5 inches tall. I have no idea of the age they are auction items.

Very nice primitive wood butter mold that is 5-1/2 inches tall to the top of the handle. The mold itself is 3-1/2 inches high and 3-7/8 inches in diameter. The stamp has a deep carving of an 8-petal flower design. The handle unscrews from the press for easy cleaning. There are hairline cracks on the top of the mold and one down the side due to age. Otherwise, this mold is in very good condition and would make a fine kitchen display piece.

This is a gorgeous vintage turned wood tidbit server complete with wood handle, made in San Juan PR. It is 13" diameter. Wood type is unknown but it does have knots in the grain. It does have a few dings in the finish that lends to the vintage feel, and a tiny stress split on the rim.

This vintage antique Bull Powder Horn measures approximately 9",with a wooden base and has a wooden stopper,or end plug, which pulls out for filling. The wood carved knob shows some usage which gives it a nice touch and has nice curvature. Obtained from antique dealer who dates it around 1880-1900 from new Hampshire. Reasonable wear maybe expected on this vintage item. Buyer pays $10.00 postage and insurance.
