This old pulley was used on a farm to hoist tons of hay into the loft of the barn for winter. It has two one inch rope pulleys side by side.There is a small feeder pulley mounted at the very bottom of the block. The heavy "blacksmithy' steel is assembled within the wooden block, which appears to be oak.The clevis and hook are also built as part of the pulley. This old piece looks well used. It is appox 5 1/2" high and has a 3 5/8" disc on the bottom which was used for scraping the hair from the hogs at hog killing time. The center post is very sturdy to facilitate applying maximun pressure. At the top there is a hook for hanging. A rare find today.
