What a delightful bisque figurine of one of the most popular breeds of dogs in the U.S., the German Shepherd, or if you prefer Alsation, or Berger Allemand. This German Shepherd is 7 1/2" tall and has great realistic detail. He is numbered on the bottom with M6612 and there is residue from a sticker. (German made?) This walnut Barlow desk set contains what appears to be a scrimshaw medallion with a pair of mustangs racing across the prairie. The gold-tone writing pen has been tested and works fine. The base measures approximately 5" X 3 3/8". The set is in the original box. We have not been able to locate another set like this, so we cannot put an accurate date on the piece.
