This striking Stangl Rooster and Hen figure set is very hard to find. Both figures are from an extraordinarily fine line of art pottery that Stangl produced. This is a neat McCoy cookie jar – a large white rooster! He’s in wonderful condition with minor color wear on his comb and he has a couple production McFlaws on front (see photo). The paint is cold paint and it easily “slips” if immersed in water. There are two brush “hairs” in the red color indicating paint “touch-up” but I’m not certain because I had one of these jars several years ago and it also had a brush “hair” in the red color! Nice large hand painted rooster salt and pepper shakers are made of ceramic and measure 4 3/4" tall. They are in pristine condition and have their plastic stoppers. This is a grand old hen! Hand painted and made in Italy. Very heavy ceramic and measures 11 1/4" tall and is about 12 1/2" long. She is free from cracks and chips. She does have some paint chips in a few spots though that have been lightly touched up, but they are not chips into the ceramic, just the paint. She is very sunny and bright with her orange yellow and green coloring on the white background. She will be the bright spot in your kitchen!

This little hand painted hen on a nest is real cute. The nesting box holds the two ceramic eggs which are the salt and pepper shakers. Says farm fresh eggs, and they are the size of real eggs. Unfortunately one of the egss are cracked badly, and you will need to replace it later. Rubber stoppers. Wood box is 6" tall to the tip of the hens head.
