The yoke and horns of the oxen may be seen in the front, while a water jug hangs from the back; and small blue and white wild flowers dot the landscape; some craquelure. Fine museum-quality bronze portrait medallion of Kleber dated 1831 by the famous French sculptor Pierre-Jean David (1789-1856), also known as David d’Angers who produced many of these medallions. He is probably best known for having sculpted the frieze on the pediment of the Pantheon in Paris.
