I believe the original was painted in 1885. The listed print was published in 1925 by Borin Mfg. Co., Chicago. The frame measures 17 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches and the exposed print measures 15 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches, however, the print is most likely closer to the frame size. The print and frame are showing much brighter than they are in reality, but I like natural light for full disclosure. This depiction of the Russian Fairy Tale, "Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf was originally pained by Ivan Bilibin in 1901. This contemporary rendition by, L. Golubeva shows the young Tsar holding the Tsarevna in his arms and making their escape on a white steed. The painting is done on a textured wood board, painted in shades of brown, blue, orange and white, then heavily lacquered to preserve the wonder painting.
