Jacob Stauffer (1808-1880) - Portrait of Daniel Martin in his highchair, signed and dated May 24th 1830, watercolor on paper, 9x7. Along with being a painter, Jacob Stauffer was a storekeeper, job printer, pharmacist, lawyer, botanist and photographer. From 1839 to 1858 he lived in Richland, now Mount Joy, PA. In 1858 he moved to Lancaster and bacame a librarian of the Lancaster Athenaeum.
