Impressive small sculpture, hand carved wood, woman carrying sticks, a large knife, and smoking a pipe. Both the pipe and the knife definitely appear to be unfinished ebony wood, and the bottom of the base also appears to be ebony; and it appears that the remainder of the sculpture may have had a black glaze placed over it. Our photos do not do justice to this lovely iridescent, egg-paperweight. The "tornado" is made of tiny canes of glass which twist their way to the top of the whirling cone, and then spill over the sides. Other colorful canes and bits of glass are scattered throughout the egg. The base is signed "MSH, 83," as one of the artists for The Glass Eye, makers of beautiful and artistic glass sculpture products.
