The best book on American Federal Furniture, based on the Winterthur collection, where Charles F. Montgomery was director. He later became a senior research fellow at Winterthur and later became a curator and professor of art history at Yale University. This is the 1978 Bonanza edition, not the 2001 reprint which is of lesser quality. It is a large volume, copiously illustrated. The book is so large, in fact, that the scan truncates the cover a bit.
