The Emerald Whaler, William Laubenstein Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1960, 237 pages. A little edgewear to dustjacket, d.j. now in Brodart protective cover, book itself in very good condition. A slightly fictionalized account of the voyage of the whaling ship Catalpa to Fremantle, Australia, to rescue six Fenians still in prison there in 1875. Of the books written about the rescue of six Fenian prisoners in Western Australia this is perhaps my least favorite, but even so there are things in here tha... Click for details
