Lovely old porcelain, ceramic Casket, Hinged Box with gold colored brass? gold-plated? Mounts. The handpainted, monochrome scene on the lid is a park-like setting with a couple in 19th century dress, sitting on a large log. The woman holds a basket of flowers, while the gentleman plays a mandolin. 4" x 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" tall. Great undamaged condition, with only some minor finish loss to the mounts; no loss to the painting at all; no cracks, no chips. Reverse hand-signed in gold, "Orlik" and ... Click for details

Wonderful thickly hand-enameled and gilded, ceramic box, with artist's signature on the base, "Mrs. G. A. Simors," and the impressed origin, "Japan," plus an impressed maker's mark of a circle with two crossed lines in the center, all pictured. Measures about 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" x 1" tall. Crazing throughout, perhaps small losses to the gilding; no other damage; in excellent condition. We suggest this is early 20th Century, although we have not been able to find the maker's mark for verification.... Click for details

This looks similar to something that Wedgwood would make, but it has a printed "Hull" mark on the bottom. It is not in script so I am pretty sure this isn't from Hull Pottery. I really don't know where it came from, I just know it is pretty and relatively undamaged. It is 4 1/2 by 3 1/4. Sets on 4 toes.
