Lovely small box with hinged lid with floral inlay, velvet lining, "Made in Italy" foil label on base. Green stained wood which has the appearance of birdseye maple veneer (although that may be a staining technique); very attractive in any case. About 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" x 1-5/8" tall. Very good condition with some undervarnish cracquelure on inside of lid. 20th Century. $6 US First Class Shipping with Confirmation number.

Good sized, at 12" x 8" x 7-1/2" tall. Great hand crafted box; inlaid wood in double stripes on the lid, and all around the perimeter. Neat handcut and shaped handles and feet; handles are made from alternating light and dark, multi-layered wood pieces, and their final, top layer is inlaid with the lighter wood. The lid is bordered with the lighter wood. Condition is excellent; although there's two natural cracks in the wood of the lid (pictured), and they do not cause a problem. Seven smal... This is a beautifully etched and painted wooden box that is signed Russia 1979 on the back. I believe it may be a synagogue or temple. It measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and is 1 7/16" in height. The inside is finished wood. It is a very lovely piece.

This is a strange one-of-a-kind box, from circa mid 1850s. Hand-made dovetails, and original tin bottom. Inscribed "Joseph H Ward" on the top - the boxes likely maker and original owner. This box has a clasp to close but has never had hinges on it. Appears there used to be some type of swivel mechanism the lid turned on - very strange. The box also has two drilled holes on one side, original to its making. We have no idea what this box was used for. Originates in State of Ohio, USA.... Click for details

This is an old shabby chic box with pink and blue morning glories on the top and a round matted frame style under glass. It does have one spot of discoloration on the mat, but not too bad. The inside has a mirrored top and two compartments with glass bottoms. I have no idea what this was used for it is an auction piece. The pink paint has that shabby look to it. Prison or Tramp Art cedar chest wood jewelry box. This is an auction piece so I don't know the age. It has a lovely warm redish light and dark wood and the most unusual handmade hinges that are in great working order. The top opens and it has a drawer, both are lined with a navy blue felt. It measures 3.25 by 6 inches and is 3.5 inches tall. It is in very good working condition.

This is a wood jewelry box with a picture of a Hummel boy and lamb on the top. It is a music box and it does play, but not that well. The inside is red felt and in spotlessly clean perfect condition. It measures 8.25 by 6 inches and is 3.5 inches tall. It is marked Japan in black on the bottom so I think it is a vintage piece, but it is from an auction so I don't know the age. I have had many boxes that have had inlays of wood but never one with all this inlay of fine brass strands. It is not wire but actually very fine rectangular shaped. It is completely covering the cover as well as the four outside sections of the base. Except for the base insert it is made of one solid piece. The top is also notched out of a solid piece.
