This is a neat English salt glazed earthenware pitcher or jug made in 1910-1920s in Staffordshire, England that I brought home recently from England. The jug measures 6.75 inches high and is 5.75 inches in diameter. It has a raised design on one side of a pub drinking scene, and the other is a traditional one of witches pulling the tail off a horse on the hunting field...which have been identified as the legend of Tam O'Shanter, in 2 tone stoneware. This is a crested china bone china creamer or cream jug and sugar bowl or sugar basin basin in an unknown shape with gold trim made by Shelley China of England. The pattern is a black transfer of Ye Olde Mint House Pevensey, Sussex. The mark is the usual Shelley green shield and dates the set to 1910-1920. This is a fabulous English ironstone large 4 to 6 cup teapot with a pretty design of apple blossoms with gold trim. The teapot was made by Ellgreave, a division of Wood and Sons, Staffordshire England in the 1950s. The teapot measures 6 inches high by 9 inches long by 5.5 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or any wear and looks like it has lived in a china cabinet. Beautiful!
