Southern Potteries / Blue Ridge Potteries “Cock O The Walk” platter. Measures 11 ¾” long and 9” wide. It is in near excellent condition with virtually no utensil marks. I saw two, both light and under ½” long. No chips, cracks, or crazing with the exception of a dark spot on one edge that may actually be a glaze pop with a bit of staining. Blue Ridge dinnerware was produced by Southern Potteries of Erwin, Tennessee in the late 1930s to 1956. This colorful pattern is named "Mardi Gras". The platter measures 13 3/8" x 10". Here is a great start on a set of 8.25-inch salad/lunch plates in the Country Fair pattern with the green edge (Colonial shape). These are known as the Avon Salad Set. These plates were made by Southern Potteries for Avon to use as sales incentives. All five plates are in mint condition.
