This delicate little set is factory transfer decorated with beautiful pink and white colored roses. The tiny pink rose and green foliage sprays are scattered about both cup and saucer. The cup handle has gold trim. Along with the red Haviland pottery stamp on the back of both cup and saucer, it reads E.L. Underwood, Jamestown, NY. These are beautiful demitasse cups and saucers made by Theodore Haviland. The pattern was made exclusively for the Lipman Wolfe & Co. Department Store located in Portland, Oregon. The store was opened in 1912 and was sold to Frederick and Nelson i 1979. The cup and saucer are banded with a pretty geometric border with garlands of pink roses and green leaves. This is a fine china collector’s plate and is the 2nd issue in the La Dame a la Licorne (The Lady & the Unicorn) collection and was produced by Haviland in Limoges, France in 1978. This plate is based on the centuries old tapestries displayed in the medieval Museum de Cluny in Paris, France. The plate is in excellent condition. The plate is 9 7/8” across.
