This beautiful plate is in the "blackberry and basketweave" pattern. As the pattern name would indicate, the plate has a basketweave background. While this pattern is most commonly found with a white background, this one is brown. The basketweave pattern sits around a 3 3/4" vibrant yellow center. This beautiful majolica plate/tray is in the shape of a begonia leaf. These leaf shaped plates were actually intended to serve as pickle dishes. While they came in a variety of colors, the turquoise background makes this variation unusual. It is also unusual for its size - it measures 12" to the tip of the leaf, and is 8.5" wide.
