Almost 7 1/2" high by 6" across bottom this nice cookie jar was made by The House of Webster. NO DAMAGE such as chips, nicks, cracks, glaze and or repairs. This might be considered a biscuit jar. This is a charming Otagiri Teddy Bear cookie jar. The bear is brown with creamy white accents and has a red polka-dotted bandana tied around its neck. The cookie jar is approximately 10-3/4" tall from the base to the top of it's ear. He is in like new condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. He is marked on the bottom "Otagiri 1983 Japan". This bear cookie jar that can be turned around to show either a girl or boy bear is a mold from Ludowici Celadon Co. Produced in the 1940's. American Bisque Co. also used this mold. This is one of several cookie jars I have listed. It was made in Japan and I have seen this same jar with different colors and slightly different mold. Always the same in regards to the stethoscope. For your consideration I am offering this rare McCoy cookie/biscuit jar. It was produced in the mid 1940's and has an unsigned unglazed bottom (listed in Sanford's Guide to McCoy Pottery). Very difficult to find with the original lid. The decorations on the jar were what is called a cold paint application meaning that it was not baked in. You are buying an old Shawnee Sailor Boy 2 pc cookie jar in original condition. He has brown eyes, red lips, blue stars on his shirt and hat, and black trim on his tie. The black trim has a few issues, but I have never seen one with perfect paint. This jar is very well defined and other than the mentioned paint, it is in excellent condition! These Shawnee sailor boys were always hard to find. Thanks for looking!
