This is a Metlox Lucy Goose, In another book it was listed as Granny Goose. Please don't confuse Granny Goose with Mother Goose that was also made by Metlox. Lucy is 14 1/4 inches tall and marked with impressed, Metlox Calif USA. She has no chips or cracks. Lucy Goose was designed by Helen McIntosh who designed many of the most popular Metlox cookie jars. The Collector's Encyclopedia of Metlox Potteries lists her value as $150.

Nice older glazed ceramic cookie jar is a nice large size. Simple and sweet old fashioned bunny rabbit in a dress with blue collar and trim and a pink tie. Would be wonderful for Easter. This funy little Christmas pup has been into the decorations. Not sure if this is Maxines dog or not. He has a gold star over one eye. My friend said this jar was at the Hallmark store. Anyway, it measures just 7 1/2" tall. More of a treat jar size. It has a real jingle bell hanging from the tail of the dog. Pristine condition, and very cute.

This great cookie jar was handmade in a ceramic shop. Someone did a very nice job on her. All of her decoration is under the glaze. She is a black and white spotted holstien cow and has pretty eyelash detailing. Measures 9 1/2" tall an is about 12" long. This is very nice Watt piece. It is marked WATT,#503 U.S.A, Oven Ware.. Lid has a pin chip on handle of lid and chipping around underneath around outer rim. Not visible if lid is on the pot. The bottom has some crazing, but is not chipped.

This listing has a very nice McCoy cookie jar – it’s the puppy on basketweave made in 1956! Jar is in very good condition with bottom interior crazing that has darkened (quite common and is caused by shortening/butter used in cookies). The lid has crazing and there is a ¼” x ¼” interior slice type chip at rim edge of jar – cannot be seen with lid on jar and because of the color, is not especially noticeable with the lid off the jar. Very nice addition to a collection!

This original yellow and black McCoy engine cookie jar Ca. 1962-1964 can be found in The Encyclopedia of cookie jars by Fred Roerig and Joyce Herndon Roerig.
