“Companion doll” was the general term used to name the dolls at 36” tall that appeared in the late 50’s-early 60’ that were the life size of a 4 or 5 years toddler girl and were produced and marketed as“companion doll” to children and thus are able to share clothing and play with its owner as if it were a real person.
The very first one of those dolls was produced in 1959 by Ideal Toy company and was name Patti Play Pal.

This set of dolls was made in Spain.
They are a replica of the celluloid baby from the 30’s and hand made from an original mold. A thin, hard plastic looking like celluloid was used to bring those dolls faithful to the original one.
Both dressed in the same blue and white strips fabric,he has red hair with hazel color eyes while she is blond with blue eyes.
They have never been played with and are still in their original box.
