Beautifully and intricately handpainted Asian Plate, with added gold highlighting the river, and metallic copper highlighting the night sky; a fisherman in the foreground, boats and huts in the background. Signed in gold script lower left, and in Asian characters upper right about 2 o'clock. 5-1/2" diameter. 1940s Made In Japan, and so-signed on the base, pair of black, thickly enameled floral on the front of each, and a smaller version on the reverse of each -- pictured one front, and one back. 5-1/4" tall, 2-1/4" diameter rim. Not only precious, but expertly created, tiny Chinese Cloisonne Bottle; dragon chasing the sacred pearl -- Sacred Pearl on the cap. Opens to reveal a tiny scoop/dauber likely made of ivory or bone. This wonderful Mammy cookie jar was made by Brayton Laguna. The company, best known for its Disney figurines, was only in business from 1927 - 1968. This cookie jar is marked "Copyright 1943 by Brayton Laguna Pottery" on the base, so it was made sometime between 1943 and 1968. This robust lady is very colorful. We believe this to be Banko Ware. This is truly a wonderful work of art. If you would like to see more photos, please email us, as it was impossible to capture all of the nuances of this very elaborate dragon that encircles the bowl (ashtray). The indentions in this bowl seem to be decorated in the form of clouds; and the dragon is intricately formed. The bowl is in good condition, with a few sharp, tusk-like tips which have broken off.
