George II Queen Anne card table of very dense mahogany in an unusual state of preservation. It has a square-eared recessed top and a baize-lined interior with candlestands and money wells. The elegant cabriole legs end in shapely pads, and there is a wonderful mahogany-lined long drawer running the entire length. The top has particularly nice faded color. Mahogany 18th century gilt mirror in Queen Anne style, probably made in Northwest Europe. The backboards and glass appear to be original. A superb example of a Georgian period mahogany tray, double banded in brass and with carved carrying handles. The vertical pieces are rabbeted into the bottom, making this a complex item to construct. Trays such as this reached their height of craftsmanship in the Regency period from 1800-1820 while George III was incapacitated. Condition is very good; there have been very minor repairs over time on the sides. Dimensions: 24 5/8 inches long; 15 5/8 inches wide; 2 1/8 inches high.
