FOVAL (which derived its name from Fry OVenglass Art Line) was produced by the H.C. Fry Glass Co. of Rochester, Pennsylvania. The beautiful "pearl" blue was achieved by using aluminum oxide - differing the amount of aluminum oxide allowed for varied opacity. Some FOVAL items were trimmed with green or blue details. All Fry Art Glass pieces were hand blown and fire polished, with the pontils polished out. This was a very costly process, which is most likely why the FOVAL line was produced for... Marked Fry and 1932 9D on the lid and Fry ovenglass 1932-9 Pat. 5-8-17, Pat. 5-27-19 on the bottom this casserole measures 9 1/2" by 7" by 4". There are some small chips on the interior lip where the lid sits and a couple small chips on the inside edge of the lid. The metal holder has some wear and corrosion. Sold

Here is a beautiful brilliant american cut glass jug in the "omar" pattern that was made by the fry glass company circa 1905 to the 1920's.This lovely cut glass jug features brilliant deep miter cuts with large hobstars.The jug measures 9" tall and is 5 3/8" wide across the base.There is some very minor light surface scratching and a few very small minute flea bites on some of the sharp miter cuttings.This is typical with glassware of this type and age.This jug is in really nice condition for it...
