This is a very interesting modernist pendant in the style of Ed Wiener (see illustration in Marbeth Schon’s Modernist Jewelry 1930-1960, p. 67), but like so many pieces of the period, it is unsigned. Interesting features include the sculptural boxlike construction, the half bezel,half prong setting of the moonstone and the cut out, dipping platform. It is a good size--2 3/8” x 2”. It must be wedding time shortly as we are pulling out our married sets. This gorgeous frosted and polished lilac and purple rhinestone set is just a stunner. It is possible the set is by Garne Jewelry as the earrings are signed but no other pieces are. The AB's and frosted glass cabs in the 7/8" earrings are identical to those used in the 15" necklace and 7 1/4" x 1" bracelet. It's only the shape of the stones that are different.
