Rarely does one come across a 4" x 3" brooch as dimensional as this piece is. The chatons are abosolutely breathtaking and glitter from every angle. Although the marquise stones have not weathered the years as well, it actually does not detract from this pin. The darkened tips are providing a smokey tint that make it appear more 3-dimensional than the brooch already is. Advertised by Kramer in Harpers Bazaar in 1963, this sapphire blue rhinestone necklace, bracelet and earrings ensemble is dripping with elegance. It's no wonder why it was dubbed "The Empress Collection". Large, open back, montana blue navettes are in all three pieces. The nineteen emerald cut amethyst colored rhinestones are open backed and prong set in this great necklace. Completely clear rhinestones that form the chain are all original and in excellent condition. This is probably one of Barclay's most upscale creations made during the 50's. Beautifully detailed with long "black diamond" baguettes and large center chaton, as well as crystal clear teardrop rhinestones make you first think it is Weiss. In 1945, Abe Mazer opened Avon of Belleville in Ontario, Canada. Marcel Boucher, through an agreement with Abe, was able to expand his sales into a country that appreciated his elegance of design. The designs were numbered to mirror the U.S. inventory system. This rhinestone demi parure has all the Boucher characteristics in design, quality of construction and selection of stones. This trembler brooch styled very much like a Boucher floral has three large flowers with pave centers with no darkened or yellow stones but a few slightly duller than the rest. The flower on the right is a trembler as are the pave centers in the earrings. All centers are hinged; the sign of a quality piece of costume jewelry and the weight is designer quality as well. The goldtone is in excellent condition. The brooch is 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and the earrings are 1 1/8".

In near mint condition, we think this design is like a flowing pony tail. It is elegant, glittery and affordably priced. This is one of the prettiest Coro sets we have come across. The clusters of sparkling, bright pink rhinestones are all original and the set appears never worn. With a size of 14 1/2" that will extend up to 17 1/2", it's perfect for upcoming proms and summer weddings. The center decoration is 4" x 1 1/8" and the earrings are 1" x 3/4" so this is a substantial set. Likely made in 1954 based on the assigned patent number 171978, this set, called "Belle Fleur" is in near-mint condition.
