Matched pair of old all brass oil lamps measure 15 1/2" tall. Both have their double burner wicks and on the little knobs it reads John Scott Made in England. These would be awesome with pretty glass shades & the clear chimneys. Condition is WONDERFUL on both. Sold as a pair only. Not sure of the age, they appear very old and came from an Estate I had recently aquired with some VERY old items.

Very good quality early 18th century brass candlestick with the high-domed, faceted, octagonal base which is so characteristic of French candlesticks of that period. It is made in two parts —the handmade threads joining the shaft to the base are easily seen in the photos. It stands 8¾ inches tall. It has a great patina on the underside. Good early 18th century octagonal base case candlestick of French origin. It is quite hefty (weight: one pound, seven ounces) and stands 8¼ inches tall. It has a strong knop which enhances its appearance; it is carefully finished with etched lines on the base and shaft. You might also note how nicely the maker has finished the underside of the base, even including etched lines there. There is an ejector hole to help remove the burnt down stubs. Beautifully crafted barley twist or spiral bell metal candlestick, nice patina. Made in two pieces. Height is 7 inches. Pair of cast square-based brass English candlesticks of classical style dating from the George III era, circa 1780. They make a nice presentation at their height of 10½ inches. The also retain their original bobeches whose gardrooned decoration happily echoes the gardrooning on the bases. Smart-looking heavy cast brass candlestick made about 1730 in Northwestern Europe, possibly in Denmark. Made in two pieces that come apart; you can see the hand-made threads.
