Japanese Val Dive Bomber Site Sent From USS Lexington

Japanese Type 95 Sight, used on the famous Aichi D3A “VAL” Dive Bomber. Mounted on the front of the aircraft, just forward of the cockpit windscreen, and used to line up the target for dive-bombing. Another version of the Type-95 sight was manufactured with a cross hair reticule for use as a machine gun sight on fighter aircraft. A groove inside the front of the tube allowed the cross hair reticule to be mounted when the sight was used as a machine gun sight. The front of the sight was... Click for details

Cased 1st Class War Merit Cross - Kerbach Oesterhelt 62

Gorgeous First Class war merit cross in box. Early quality tombac example with nice finish to front that really catches light and shows itself well. Maker marked 62 which matches the maker name on the case Kerbach & Oesterhelt Dresden A1. Box is generally in very good condition with no damage. The War Merit cross embossed relief on the top is a little smoothed off, otherwise a very nice box. This medal really gives a good idea of what they looked like at the time when glittery and shiny. It is... Click for details

SS Visor Cap Eagle M1/52 Deschler & Sohn - WWII German

This is just a great item. SS visor cap eagle. Properly maker marked for Deschler & Sohn with RZM on the left side (Reverse of the right wing) and M1/52 on the reverse of the left wing, with the M over the 1/52. The markings on this side are difficult to pick up with the camera but they are there and correct. There is a bit of wear on the back edge of the eagle's left wing but really not bad. Really a good example of a scarce and sought after bird.

Nice grouping of three Pakistan medals supposed to have been from one person. The 1947 Pakistan Independence Medal is marked 1222821 GNR MOHD GUL R.P.A. indicating this fellow was a gunner in the Royal Pakistan Artillery. The other two medals have the Kashmir 1948 bar and the Dir-Bajaur 1960-62 bar. Nice little set if you like odd foreign medals.

Kreis Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter Political Collar Tab

Nice political collar tab for the rank of Kreis Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter. The tab looks great from the front showing gentle age wear. The lightly toned white piping and the gold striping are nicely applied. The brown velvet is is soft and smooth. The reverse shows a very well made collar tab with all proper material and construction. The only problem I find is that the posts for the eagle's left week and the swaz are broken off. This is only noticeable due to the hole in the buckram backing that... Click for details

Superb single collar tab for the rank of Kreis Bereichsleiter. This is obviously a very high rank and a hard tab to find. Condition is perfect with no damage or excess wear. The white piping is clean and crisp, the brown velvet is soft and smooth and the buckram backing is undamaged except where the devices necessarily poke through. The posts for the eagle and the oak leaves are very nicely sunk in. Top notch example.

Luftschutz Air Warden ID - Ausweis fur Luftschutzwarte

Interesting ID not very commonly found. This is ID card for an air raid warden. The town is Bruchhausen on the western side of Germany. In 2011 it had a population of under 1000. Issued in January of 1943 which is probably about when air raid wardens really became necessary. These were important people in the civil community during war time and even had special plaques to put on their front doors so they could be found easily. The plaques are far more common then the ID and this would be... Click for details

Kriegsmarine Wehrpass & Arbeitsbuch Set - WWII German

Wehrpass and Arbeitsbuch for Kriegsmarine man. I am not great at reading these but it looks like his military service started in Augsburg in September 1937. Before and after this he worked for Keller & Knappich in Augsburg. This company, know as KUKA, is still active and makes industrial robotics. They are listed at the time as "maschinenfabrik" so he was probably involved in manufacturing of naval hardware during the war. Included is his release form from this company in 1955. It seems he found... Click for details

Super nice 50 year veterans standard bearer gorget. Nice, original condition with full length chain. I don't clean or fix anything so a quick polish on the front might make this look even nicer but it is a screamer as it is. Unit or group engraving looks to be "Woltmersh. Wehr. u. Kr. - Kameradschaft e.V" which looks a lot better on the gorget then in computer type. I see no damage to the enamel past normal age toning. A scrap of fabric has been added to the reverse; Probably a period addition... Click for details

Very nice pair of headphones with throat mics. The throat microphone was a German innovation that allowed for communication between tanks that would not be drowned out by vehicle noise. Such communication gave early German armored formations a significant tactical advantage. the Dfh.b model is the type that was used on armored vehicles. Nice, complete set with leather intact over the bands and rubber still nice and soft on the ear pieces.

Two cool equipment plates for a German vehicle. I can not find the code fdp in any of my reference books and online searches tend to bring up a million returns for "free democratic party". This one was nailed into place. As with anything Confederate, there are an awful lot of fake UCV medals out there. This one is the type you look at and immediately find absolutely no doubt. Great look and great condition except for the wear on the ribbon (See photos). The bottom indicates UCV with two different Confederate flags with nearly perfect paint as well as a likeness... Click for details
