Ceramic tray, 10 in., with detailed schematic of the Advanced Terrier/Tartar Guided Missile, produced by General Dynamics (Pomona CA) for the US Navy. The Terrier/Tartar was a surface-to-air missile that underwent RDT&E in the 1950s and early 1960s. This unusual piece was probably presented to a visiting dignitary (i.e., a Member of Congress). Very good condition.

This is a very interesting advertisement dated April, 1945, for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation of Burbank, California. The top of the ad reads, "Der Gabelschwanz Teufel" which means "Fork-tailed devil" – or Lockheed P-38 Lightning. German pilots who had been lucky enough to escape its wrath named the plane. My internet research turned up little information about his patch. I did learn the Delta Company began in mid-1968 as a result of a restructuring effort due to shortages of personnel experienced by Bravo and Charlie Companies in the Vietnam War.... Click for details
