Storming of Bastille 1789 Large French Medal by Andrieu

French historical medal commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789. Medal by Jean-Bertrand Andrieu. There are some things the French are just better at then anyone else; Food, wine, fluffy dogs, storming spooky prisons and making big fancy medals. This impressive (If historically inaccurate) portrayal of the storming of the Bastille is really an impressive work of art. At about 79mm in diameter this is a large item and sure is an attention grabber. On the reverse some jerk scratched some... Click for details

Interesting medallion from the aircraft designing and manufacturing company founded by Tony Fokker. Fokker is most famous for his WWI aircraft used by Germany in WWI which were revolutionary in design. As is often the case with technological development, WWI greatly accelerated advancement of aircraft design and Fokker's planes were always in the forefront of this evolution. When WWI finally ended Fokker moved his company to his native Holland . This medallion commemorates 30 years of this compa... Click for details

UNDER-HAMMER PERCUSSION BOOT PISTOL
click for details
This mid- 1800's under-hammer percussion boot or muff pistol with walnut grips does not have any maker's mark, but by the style appears to have been made in the USA by Tiffany and Gibbs. The under-hammer was useful because the hammer didn't get snagged when removed from muff or boot. The barrel is 5 inches long and about 32 cal. overall length is 8 3/4 inches and it weighs 13.1 ounces. The bore has minor surface rust, but overall the pistol is in very good shape and in working condition. ... Click for details

UNDER-HAMMER PERCUSSION BOOT PISTOL
click for details
This large size boot pistol with walnut grips doesn't have any markings, but from the style appears to be USA made. The under-hammer percussion pistols were popular because the triggers didn't get caught when withdrawing them from their hiding place in a gentleman's boot. Because of it's size and the thickness of the barrel this particular pistol may have been used in law enforcement. Aside from being able to shoot, it would have been a formidable weapon when used as a club. The barrel is about ... Click for details

Prussian WWI Veteran 25 Year Kriegerverband Medal

Very nice Preussischer Kriegerverband medal with the 25 year device. This device is the scarcer version with the red enamel Prussian crown rather then the usual example showing the veteran memorial. All is in great shape with no damage found. While wuite affordable I always did like these medals as they show a very good looking eagle. This maker has used a raised eagle that looks especially good. I tried to take a side view photo to show this. There black and white background is likewise undamag... Click for details

Kreuzer Karlsruhe Kriegsmarine Cap Talley - WWII German

Very nice cap talley for the K-Klasse cruiser Karlsruhe. Kriegsmarine crew members of ships were authorized to wear such tallies on their Donald Duck hats to identify the ship they were assigned to. In 1938 these were withdrawn in anticipation of mobilization and all members were then to wear the generic "Kriegsmarine" talley except for some naval schools. Condition on this talley is superb with perfect machine woven gilt thread with no snags or "washing out". There are some folds due to in bein... Click for details

Very nice quality private purchase artillery officer visor cap by Pekuros. Typical of this maufacturer the fabric is a higher quality then normal and the difference can easily be felt. Eagle insignia is nicely rounded and "melted" in. Bullion wreath insignia is a gorgeous example. The red piping shows a good bit of wear and unevenness (See photos). On the inside between the green leather sweatband and the feldgrau shell is a thin strip of black velvet I believe to be a characteristic of this make... Der Stahlhelm Member Veteran Stickpin - WWII German
click for details
Der Stahlhelm was the largest of the WWI veteran groups. Originally it was designed to help WWI veterans reintegrate to normal life. It took on more of an active militaristic role as it absorbed some of the many armed freikorps and as the often violent power struggles increased within Germany. By 1933 most of its membership was transferred to the SA and by 1935 Der Stahlhelm ceased to exist. Nice stickpin with pleasant aging marked N&H GES GESCH.

Very nice matching set of German field flatware. All pieces are matching marked GK&F with eagle and swaz. The spoon fork and can opener are all dated 1942. The knife is dated 1941 but since I am sure they didn't make every piece on the same day I have no problem calling this a matched set. Condition is excellent and all 4 pieces fit together perfectly. Most sets seem to be mixed and matched like maybe even the soldiers at the time weren't concerned with keeping them straight. Nice item for guys ... Click for details

Very attractive dress bayonet with brown leather frog indicative of Luftwaffe personnel. The Eickhorn marked bayonet is in great shape with no particular damage to speak of. The blade shows only 3 little spots along the edge on one side (See photos), otherwise clean and mirror bright. The handle fittings are all equally clean and the plug remains in the slot. This green plug is a scarcer variety. The brown frog is a winner with nice, healthy leather. Nice backmarking JOSEPH MOLL GOCH 1937. Scabb... Click for details
