This is a lovely demitasse cup and saucer by UCAGCO (United China and Gift Co.) made in Occupied Japan, c: 1946. It is in mint condition. Both cup and saucer are hand painted. The pattern on this set shows a brown house, windmill and trees within a medallion on a white ground. The interior of the cup is green. Gold filigree shields surround the medallion. These 2 hand painted vases or sake jars appear to be quite old. They are exactly the same color and have the same Japanese marks on the bottom, but the style is slightly different. One is shaped sort of like a pumpkin and has beautiful cranes on the three sides, the other has many lines and four circles with white flowers, sort of like daisies in them. It measures 6-1/4 inches high and 7 inches from the tip of the spout to the handle. The holding capacity is 3 cups. This teapot is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or signs of wear. Delicate and stunningly beautiful, this cup and saucer are white trimmed in gold. Saucer 6 inches in diameter, cup 3 1/2 inches in diameter, 2 3/8 inches tall. Each is stamped in green Ohata china, an insignia with OC inside and Made in Occupied Japan. Two cups and two saucers available with all in excellent condition. Each cup and saucer weighs about 8 ounces.

A beautiful occupied Japan vanity dish, signed in red with a W inside a wreath.
The pictures describe it better than I can in words. A small light blue spot on the edge of the cover is a paint scuff, not a chip. On the inside there are some apparent paint droppings stuck on the bottom which can be seen in one of the pictures.
