Offering this unused postcard by Margaret Tarrant. Her career as a freelance artist spanned 50 years and she died in 1959. She designed and created cards, calendars and illustrated children's books including Peter's Friends and All Things Bright and Beautiful. This card is from the Fairy Hours Series and was issued by the Medici Society Ltd., London. Card is in excellent condition. See all my great listings.

Coloured postcard of Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company steamboat KINGSTON on the Saint Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands. Postmarked from Alexandria Bay, N.Y. on August 6, 1926. Geographic Coverage is the St. Lawrence River. This steamer serviced the 1000 island in the 1800's. Divided back. Card in very good condition and still retains the $.02 stamp. The Delaware & Hudson Railroad System built and operated the Sagamore (Length 223', beam 57', speed 20 mph) from the early 1900's to about the late 1930's. She held 1500 passengers and was considered at the time one of the finest sidewheel steamboats. Not without her share of problems as running aground in 1909 and 1912 and being involved in an accident in 1920 killing 2 passengers in a rowboat that the Sagamore ran into. Here is a steamer post card with plenty of history. This card was mailed in 1944 from Nantucket, Mass. to St. Petersburg, Florida. Still retains the $.01 stamp. The steamer Naushon built about 1929 served the islands around Martha's Vineyard until August of 1942 when commissioned by the navy and was modified to cross the Atlantic where some of her duty was in the English Channel as a hospital ship after the Normandy landings. Featured for your enjoyment is a set of 7 old post cards with real photos of people and places. These came from and old Finish homestead right down the road from me. Some have correspondence on them, most are unused. There is one duplicate, that of the confirmation photo. Nice old lot for a collector. The largest, the old homestead does have a bend in it.

This vintage postcard show a view of the fishing pier located in Michigan City, Indiana. The caption on the lower left corner says, "When the perch are biting at Michigan City, Ind."" George Leusch of Michigan City, Indiana, published the postcard. There is no date on the card, however, from some of the hats worn by the people on the card, it appears to be very old.
