This beautiful 4.75" vase in the Camellia pattern (also referred to as "Open Rose" by many collectors) was made by Hull Pottery between 1938 and 1950. A shading of soft pink envelopes the top opening and fades into off white through the body, then pale blue at the base . The backside has the same design but the rose is in a deeper pink. This valued collectible pair of vintage HULL Red Riding Hood salt and pepper shakers is an original, not a reproduction. An original in this very collectible line is recognized mainly by the small open "orange" poppy flower on the front. Circa 1945. The mark on the bottom is imprinted "PAT NO 135889". I believe this to be the Regal China Little Red Riding Hood. The interior of the lid is unglazed. The poppy decalhas a portion missing on the lower poppy. There is a small glaze miss on her left shoulder and a "pimple" of raised glaze on the back of her cape. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. Marked USA on bottom. Approximately 8" high.
