This is the LID ONLY for a vintage Shawnee cookie jar. Her name is Winnie the Pig. She is wearing a hat adorned with green clover leaves with pink buds, and has a green ruffled collar around her neck. This lid stands 6" tall and is 6" at the widest (across the collar). This cookie jar was made by The Shawnee Pottery Company of Zanesville Ohio. The company was in business from 1937-1961. This particular cookie jar is called Smiley the Pig and was made in the 1940's. Smiley has burgundy ears, mouth, and hooves. He is dressed in a burgundy neckerchief. His overalls are held up by brown suspenders attached with four yellow buttons, detailed in gold. This is a wonderful find – a range set made by Shawnee for Great Northern! Set consists of Dutch boy and girl shaker set (5”) and a “water bucket” grease jar (or sugar bowl). Shakers are unmarked, bucket is marked: Great Northern, U.S.A., 1042. Set is in wonderful condition – pepper has some discoloration (from the pepper and stove heat), salt has a rub that could be production on her apron, and the water bucket has some under-glaze discoloration dots/spots – that’s it! Shawnee’s little animal figurines are difficult to find! This listing has a little bear in a pretty peachy/flesh color. Measures 3 1/8” tall (at tallest), 3 ¼” long (at longest), 1 ¾” wide (at widest), and is in wonderful condition. Bear has no chips or cracks but his left front foot has minor discoloration under the glaze – that’s it! Cute item.

Extra nice Shawnee rocking horse planter! This one is a lovely sky blue color, measures 5 ¾” tall (at tallest), 3 ¼” wide (at widest), and bottom is marked: USA, 526 (difficult to see due to glaze fill-in). Planter is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It has been used as intended and interior has minor mineral residue – that’s it! Very pretty planter.
