This partnership was in effect circa 1763-73 when David Hennell I, the father, retired. This firm continued for decades under multiple generations of this prolific family of silversmiths. Tracing to the second half of the 1860s, this piece is stamped with an Old English "M" indicating it was the work of John C. Moore produced for "Tiffany & Co.," which name also appears on the underside, along with the word "Sterling."

This dating also correlates with the model number "1700" (and order number "3007") which is included with the above marks.

A very large, open master salt, it has a round, slightly inward tapered body that measures 2 5/8" across at the top opening, stands 1... Click for details

Stamped with the model number "3315" along with the Gorham "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and date symbol for 1890, this sugar and creamer are breakfast or tete-a-tete size.

The sugar stands 4" high to the top of the swing handle, and rises 2" from the 2" diameter rim base to the edge of the rim which is 3 3/4" across. It weighs approximately 3.4 T. oz.

The pitcher is 3 3/8" tall, 3" across to the handle tip, has a 1 1/2" rimmed base, and weighs 3.0 T. oz.

This 2 1/4" tall, 3" diameter, round bowl sits on a tiered pedestal base that is 2" across. The piece weighs nearly 2.8 T. oz.

It is hallmarked for Turner & Simpson, of Birmingham, England, with city and sterling symbols that, while rubbed, are legible. The date letter is obscured, although the outline shape is for "Cycle XIII," which ran 1950-74.
