Measuring 5 1/8" in diameter, 3/8" high, and weighing just over 2.8 T. oz., this shallow dish is a wine coaster that is suitable for holding either a 750 or 1500 ml bottle.

It has a 1/2" wide rim that is chased in a repeating acanthus leaf and scroll design.

The sidewall is tiered, while the base is convex, with a concave dip in the center. This is inscribed with a fancy, feathered script "MJK" monogram.

A large item, this open master salt stands 2" high to the rim, 2 1/2" to the top of the upswept handles, has a maximum diameter of 3 11/16", rests on a tiered, footed base that is 2" across, and weighs 2.0 T. oz.

Made by Wood & Hughes, whose "W&H" emblem and "Sterling" are imprinted on the underside, there is a 3/8" wide top border that features birds, butterflies, leaves and branches, all of which matches the company's 1870 Aesthetic "Japanese" pattern.

Stone's workshop made this item in at least four sizes. The larger two required substantial time in the making, and are scarce by comparison to their smaller peers. It is also unusual find an example which has never been engraved, since these were most often made as presentation pieces.

Standing 5" tall and 3 1/4" wide at the base, this syrup pitcher or jug is model number "1794 D," as stamped on the silver collar. Other marks include the Gorham "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and a date symbol for "1906."

The body is glass, cut in a flower, perhaps aster or daisy, leaf, and scroll design.

This is all capped with a solid sterling collar with a rolled rim and fitted lid.

An extraordinary design statement, this 5 5/8" diameter, over 2.4 T. oz., sterling plate was produced by a company, Unger Brothers, that was a pace setter for such work in both silver and jewelry in the late 19th through early 20th centuries.

Essentially decorative rather than utilitarian, it was likely meant to be gazed upon, like a plaque, or at best put into light service.

A popular and enduring pattern, Kirk's "Repousse" was produced in an array of holloware matching its flatware line.

This piece is a 7" long, 3 1/2" at the widest, 4" to the highest point at the top of the handle, 8.1 T. oz., gravy or sauce boat.

It is stamped "S. Kirk & Co," "925/1000," and "7" on the underside. Rainwater indicates this particular mark was used on holloware 1903-07.

An unusual item perhaps intended for sugar, candy, or even a dresser item, this round bowl measures 4 1/2" in diameter and stands 2 1/4" high to the rim.

The faceted base is molded glass while the top is silver attached to an applied rim. The lid is divided in half and is fitted with a hinge and knob allowing it to open fully.
