This sterling silver bowl measures 13" end to end, which is long in relationship to its 7 3/8" width.

The splayed and undulating walls are 2" maximum height at either end and 1 1/4" tall at the highest points on the sides. It weighs 9.2 T. oz., which is moderately light for its size.

The pattern is "Fourteenth Century" by Shreve & Co., which name is stamped on the underside, along with the words "San Francisco" and "Sterling."

Apart from this, he was a well-regarded producer of Arts & Crafts items as well as reproduction pieces.

Typically referred to as a string holder, this item is identified in the 1898 Gorham catalog (see image 3) as a twine holder.

It is stamped with the number "S3044" on the lower top rim, as well as "Sterling" and Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem.

These two, matching, butter pats are 3" square and weigh a substantial 2.5 T. oz. the pair. Made by Gorham, they are stamped with the company name and "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," the model number "58," and date from about 1935.

They have 1/4" high, gadroon edges with a slight lip. The interiors are engraved "E.I.T" in block lettering.
