Fiddle thread and shell (3 shells - both sides of handle, and shell on heel). Length, one 11-3/4", the other 11-1/2". Weight 5-3/8 troy ounces each. The monogram is the faint (typical for antique Chinese silver) crest of a bird facing left. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Marked on edge of base. Triple bamboo stem. Four chased panels for overall chased effect - 1 human figures, 1 crest and monogram, 1 dragon, 1 leaf design. Height 5-7/8", mouth diameter 2-3/4", base diameter 2-1/4", weight 4-1/4 troy ounces. The monogram in a large oval panel is an Old English CS or SC, and a crest. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Canton circa 1825, double struck fiddle thread and shell with classic "inset vee" or "Chevron" seam construction, length 11 7/8 inches, weight 6.9 Troy ounces, a minor test mark as shown in enlargement number four but outstanding overall condition, no monogram.

indeed riotous chrysanthemum decoration, height 3 3/4 inches, weight 3.32 Troy ounces, top diameter 2 3/8 inches, applied circular cartouche with no monogram, seamed construction, a minor test file mark on base (please see fourth photo at nine-o-clock position) but excellent overall condition.

Tuck Chang worked in Shanghai, and this piece dates from about 1890. My suspicion is that a bit of Scotch will taste better than ever when sipped from his beaker, but I'll wait until this evening... Click for details

Including 8 cups, all by W. Floral repousse on base, decoration on shaft, handle. Height 8-3/4", maximum horizontal dimension 7-3/4". Weight 35.9 troy ounces. No monogram. Overall condition is excellent except that we assume it at one time had egg spoons. Mark condition is excellent. We obtained this set from the estate of Crosby Forbes, author of the pioneering book on Chinese Export silver and descendant of the Forbes family who were prominent in the China trade. no, not that kind of a cat box, but a snuff box with "trap door" opening and secret compartment, 2 1/4 by 1 7/8 by 1 inches, weight 2.27 oz. Troy, marked with Chinese ideograms only (please see 5th photo).

In terms of construction, this is, not alas a first rate object. The edges don't quite meet up flush, the hinge is on the exterior rather than integral, and there are also a few minor bits of waviness on the front and side panels.
