Shell grips. Marked on each arm I.McMULLIN in a serrated rectangle (John McMullin, 1765-1843, Philadelphia, Belden mark b). Also marked with an eagle facing left and a diamond with four dots inside (see McGrew). Length 6-1/2". Weight 1.6 troy ounces. The monogram is a script SHS(?) at the bow. The overall and mark condition are excellent.

Marked J(pellet)C twice. Buhler MFA mark a. John Coburn (1725-1803). Condition of marks: 1 excellent; 1 good-. Pierced and bright cut arms, shell grips. Length 5". Weight 1.5 troy ounces. No monogram. One arm has been reattached, otherwise in excellent condition.

This WM. Rogers silver serving dish is in very nice condition, there are a couple of blemish marks on the serving bowl. It is numbered 2347 on the bottom and is decorated with the Country Lane flower pattern. Circa 1954.

Joseph W. Cary is cited in new book by Norman Mack--"Missouri's Silver Age." Mack says that Cary moved his jewelry store from Alton, Ill., to St. Louis ca 1870-75. These spoons have pinched-waist fiddle handles, pointed shoulders with feathered script mono E C S; length is 6-1/8", and condition is near mint, extended tips unworn.

Form of about 1770 with upturned handles (tipt on top, no drops), but marked N.Harding and Pure Coin, each in a rectangle. Made by Newell Harding of Boston, say 1840, but probably to match other earlier spoons. Length 8-1/4". Weight 6.25 troy ounces (2.1 ounces each - substantial). Script monogram on back: HW to SAWM, PHM, HWM - one recipient on each spoon. Overall condition is excellent.

A little primitive but nice. Silver cap at end of wooden handle. Probably by John Gardiner of New London, CT. Eighteenth century. Length 9-5/8". Bowl diameter 2". Total weight 1.4 troy ounces. Monogram E/IM on bottom of bowl. Mark and overall condition are very good.

Marked three times on bottom. This distinctive J:B mark is attributed tentatively by Yale to J. Bard of PA. J.Bard of Philadelphia, c.1800, is listed in books by Thorn, Okie, and Ensko, but no mark is illustrated. Acquired from a source that says it came from a family that also had a Baltimore beaker. Also included in this lot: a pair of pointed end teaspoons (acquired from another source)with raised, pointed-arch drops (say 1810), one teaspoon having the same J:B mark; the family source of... Bright cut, tipt on back, pointed arch drops. Length 5-1/2". Weight of the six is 2.4 troy ounces. There is a block monogram PA in a reserve. Overall condition is excellent (very minor toothmarks in bowl of one spoon). The mark is W.G.Forbes and two pseudohallmarks (see McGrew pages 111 & 129). The condition of the marks varies from very good to good.
