Coffee size at 5" long, and weighing a relatively light .4 T. oz., this souvenir spoon was produced by Watson, whose "crown, W, lion" emblem and the word "Sterling" appear on the handle backside.

A commemorative of World War I, it features a full size American soldier, commonly referred to as a "doughboy," holding a gun.

The figure is highly detailed. His chiseled looking features are set in high relief and possess a sculptural quality.

This example of late Victorian grape shears or, as period catalogues identify them, scissors, are of a quality that set the bar for such pieces. They excel in terms of design, manufacture, and material.

The first factor that stands out is that they are made of solid sterling silver. Grape shears typically have steel cutters, while these are clearly marked on the backside of the lower blade "Howard & Co." and "Sterling," which applies to the entire piece.

Larger than most examples of this piece, measuring 5 7/8" long and weighing an exceptionally heavy 1.7 T. oz., this circa 1895 spoon was made by Watson, whose pennant emblem and the word "Sterling" are imprinted on the reverse.

A souvenir item, the handle portrays a standing miner wearing boots and a hat, holding a chunk of ore in his left hand and with his right hand leaning on a crow bar or such.

The figure is standing on a base that reads, "Struck it at last."

VINTAGE STERLING SILVER LADLE. A souvenir from Peru/ Measures approximately 5" in length. Dancer at the top of the handle and the bowl of the ladle features 2 llamas and what appears to be a Sun God or other Peruvian idol, Tiki,. I left this beautiful ladle with its slightly original oxidized patina, but if you would care to polish it, it would shine brightly. Wonderful condition.

Among the Native American tribes of Florida, sofkee would be the name, and this spoon designed by Greenleaf and Crosby circa 1900 is supposedly a scale model of such a porridge-making utensil.
