In an interesting and very period appropriate Japonesque Aesthetic design with acid etched leaves in the background and then raised 3-D pomegranate fruits. Hammered finish top to bottom. Having four tines, the lower one of which is wider than the others, and hooked, and with a bell shaped cut in the heel, this 6" long, 1.1 T. oz. piece is a pastry fork.

The pattern is Gorham's figural "Versailles," introduced in 1888.

An old example, the piece is marked with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem and "Sterling," and shows traces of an original gold wash on the tine area.

The backside has an Old English "B" monogram.
