A matched pair, these two items are early examples of Whiting's late 19th century "Louis XV" pattern.

They are long versions of an olive serving spoon and fork, with the former measuring 8 3/4" and weighing just over .9 T. oz., while the latter is 8 7/8" long and weighs just under .8 T. oz.

The spoon has a lattice work bowl with decorated shoulders. It and the two hooked tines on the fork are finished in a satin gold wash.

Offered is a good Victorian English sterling silver master salt spoon crested with an armorial of a duck, by noted London silversmith Charles Boynton (II), and fully hallmarked for London, 1863. This piece measures about 3 3/4 inches in length and weighs about 6 grams. Condition is good overall, with some wear but no splits or repairs. The bowl is intentionally shallow. All in all a nice useful piece, over 150 years old!

Offered is a good set of Georgian Irish sterling silver sugar tongs, fully hallmarked for Dublin, circa 1828-29, with a maker's mark of WC, most likely for Dublin silversmith William Cummins. According to web sources, Cummins worked from 1813 to 1846, was quite successful, and was expert at his craft. His name was apparently sometimes spelled “Comyns”. Dating from the last decade of the 19th century, Gorham's "Virginia" is essentially a pointed antique design with beaded edging, front and back sides.

Whatever name is applied, this example is characteristic of the piece. It measures 3 7/8" long, with a short handle and a 1 5/8" diameter bowl with two tabs to lock over the rim of a brandy snifter. It weighs .6 T. oz.
