Marked twice D.V.VOORHIS in a rectangle, plus an eagle with a shield on its chest, in a diamond cartouche. Bright cut, modeled drop, tipt on back. Length 9". Weight just over 2 troy oz. each. Lengthwise script monogram LAC in a reserve. Overall condition is excellent. Mark condition is very good (one spoon has the mark rubbed at one end, the other spoon with mark rubbed at the other end).

Marked on edge of base. Triple bamboo stem. Four chased panels for overall chased effect - 1 human figures, 1 crest and monogram, 1 dragon, 1 leaf design. Height 5-7/8", mouth diameter 2-3/4", base diameter 2-1/4", weight 4-1/4 troy ounces. The monogram in a large oval panel is an Old English CS or SC, and a crest. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Oval-end handle, c1795 -- raised pointed drop, reverse tipt, feathered script mono J E S on front; 8-3/4" long. Condition is excellent. Pseudo marks (as shown) are a sunburst and a lion, both upside down in relation to A&R mark. NOTE: beaded edge, the first flatware pattern, originated in England in the 18thC. This is perhaps the first U.S. example of the pattern. It became common here, of course, in the 1830s and beyond.
