I need help with this one. (1)What is the purpose of this form? (I have guessed ring stand). (2) Who is the maker? It is marked METROPOLI/925/STERLING. Oval tray with vertical twist stem - small knob at top. Length 5-58". Width 3-5/8". Weight 3 troy ounces. No monogram. Overall and mark condition are excellent (a few salt spots on the tray).

Marked 925 1000, each in an oval; or perhaps 925 000 with the 000 in an oval with vertical left end (have seen this mark several times before but do not know whose it is). Pointed, downturned handle with floral engraving at the end. Probably has a gold wash on bowl. No monogram. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Unknown floral-and-shell pattern, similar to Gorham Queen -- shaped blade, hollow handle (mercifully wholly intact -- no splits, no dings -- marvellous) -- feathered script mono SCD on blade, later script engraving on handle: Helen April 1894. Length is 7-1/4". Condition is excellent.

I am not sure if this a coffee pot or hot water pot. It is marked International Silver Soldered and 54 ounces. The word Hotel is readable, but the name of the hotel has been etched out, but can still see the first 2 letters of SA, but nothing else. There is a 52 in a box which is supposedly the date of manufacture. It is in dire need of cleaning, but there appears to be little damage to the finish. There is a dent on the handle. First initial of mark may be T. Sharp fins. No drop, but a shaped ridge there. Length 8-7/8". Weight 1.4 troy ounces. Lengthwise script monogram N.Parsons. Overall condition excellent. Mark condition very good (initial rubbed). Is this Thomas Ireland of Boston? Form seems too early for him.

bowls, marked only "sterling" and "J.E.Caldwell & Co." To say that these are "highly carved" would be an understatement, and though about a hundred years old they are in essentially new condition. Length five inches, no monogram.
