1956f   $65.00

An elegant turn of the 20th century design, Durgin's "New Queens" incorporates double shell and scroll elements that reflect its classical roots. The decorative success of the pattern is enhanced by the finely lined and richly textured, gold washed (front and back sides), bowl that is employed in this 4 7/8" long, relatively heavy .8 T. oz., tea caddy spoon.

This is an especially fine example without a monogram or monogram removal. There is no polishing wear or damage, and the finish is... Click for details

Original Gorham "Coligni" Sterling Silver Salad Fork
Silver : Sterling : Flatware

Old Friends
1955mt   $75.00

click for details
A late 19th century figural design that features classical motifs, "Coligni" joins such storied Gorham patterns as "Versailles" and "Mythologique" in occupying a commanding place in the world of silver flatware manufacturing.

This example is a 7" long individual salad or fish fork. Commensurate with the line, it is very heavy at 1.7 oz.

It is in very good condition. Somewhat polished, there is some softening of detail on the design, but overall the detail remains distinct. It also... Click for details

The handle has a period "Bead" pattern front, and curiously a "Thread" pattern on the reverse. There is a fancy, feathered script "CAC" monogram on the obverse, and what appears to be a "CAP" monogram on the reverse. Such details always raise the question of... Click for details

Durgin "Louis XV" Sterling Silver Lettuce Fork
Silver : Sterling : Flatware

Old Friends
1908f   $60.00

Issued in 1891, Durgin's "Louis XV" is a dense, rococo design that reflects quite a different, and arguably more engaging, interpretation of the motif from Whiting's much simpler pattern of the same name produced in the same year.

This example is a 7 7/8" long, relatively weighty 1.0 T. oz., lettuce fork. It originally had an overall gold finish, but much of that was polished away and now shows only partly on the handle. It remains essentially intact on the three tine serving end.

This example is a large, 8 1/2" long, 2.3 T. oz., serving spoon. It has a large, round bowl with a rippled base and notched shoulders. It is finished in a mostly intact, bright gold wash front and backsides. The piece... Click for details
