This 5 1/2" long teaspoon was made by Mayer Brothers of Seattle, Washington and bears that company's mark on the reverse, along with the word "Sterling." It is a souvenir piece for the state of Idaho, and incorporates a remarkable number of landmark images as souvenir spoons are want to do. The state seal, Shoshone Falls, a mining scene, and a banner reading "syringa," for the state flower, are among the features represented. This item is in mint condition.

This ice cream knife in Durgin's late 19th century Madame Royale is an original, solid sterling silver piece and is massively scaled. The overall length is 11 3/4" and the weight is an astonishing 7.4 T. oz. The retailer was Bigelow, Kennard of Boston, with the name stamped on the blade. William Gale of New York City has a long lineage in the world of 19th century silver manufacturing. He worked alone and in various partnerships and was known for producing to a sterling standard early, in a period when most other manufacturers stayed with a coin standard. This 8 1/8" long tea or dessert knife in his Italian pattern dates from about midway in his history and was produced when he was in partnership with his son. It is stamped on the blade, "W.
