Gorham Ivy Sterling Serving Spoon with Unusual Bowl
Silver: Sterling: Flatware
Old Friends
926c $ 225
This sterling silver serving spoon is 9 1/8" long and weighs just over 1.8 T. oz. The pattern is Gorham's Ivy (aka Egyptian Ivy). The bowl on this is an unusual form. It is a modified and elongated scallop shell. The sharply angular edges are also reminiscent of English Ivy leaves. Examples of this bowl style are found in Gorham's Medallion of the same period, but it is quite rare. The piece is in excellent condition and without a monogram or removal. Marks are lion, anchor, G, Patent 186... Click for details

Newell Harding (Boston) Bead Coin Silver Serving Spoon
Silver: Coin Silver: Serving Pieces
Old Friends
919c SOLD
Marked "N. Harding & Co." and "Pure Coin," this 8 1/4" long, 1.8 T. oz., serving spoon traces its origins to mid 19th century Boston. Bead was a standard pattern of the period. The scallop shell form bowl had many variants, and the one on this is appealing. There is an Old English "E.E.S." monogram on the reverse. The condition is excellent. The finish is finely patinated and the bowl is free of dings, dents, or burrs.
