length 13 1/2 inches, weight 5 oz Troy, no monogram. Concerning condition, the handle is ever so slightly off vertical and there are some very minor dents in bowl (please see fourth photo). Both of these issues are difficult for my eye to detect, so I do not feel that they need to be addressed. This sterling silver salt spoon is in an Ivy pattern that is attributed to John Westervelt of Newburgh, New York. It often appears unmarked, but in this instance is stamped with Westervelt's pseudo hallmark. It is also marked Sterling, dating it circa 1870 or later, when Westervelt shifted from a coin standard. some might call it a bouillon ladle, others a punch ladle, we won't belabor the point; length 12 5/8 inches, a dent in bowl so minor that it doesn't show up in our photo and the gilding is worn but otherwise fine condition, no monogram, weight 3.89 Troy ounces, unmarked and attractively priced. A classic example of mid 1860's engraving.

Bright cut. Length 9-1/8". Weight just under 2 troy ounces each. The monogram is a script JEI, attributed to Jared & Elizabeth (Pettit)Ingersoll; he was in the Continental Congress and a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Overall condition is excellent (1 bowl slightly bent). Mark condition is excellent (7 are D.V.V and 4 DV,all in rectangles and with his usual eagle and shield marks in diamond cartouches.

Paris, first standard (950 silver). Length 8-1/4". Weight 2.9 troy ounces each. Monogram ABS on back of handle, presumably for Simes family. Story, from reliable former owner, that these were given to the Simes family by Lafayette on his 19th C. tour of the U.S., as thanks for a horse that the family had given him. Overall condition is very good (a little tip wear); mark condition varies from excellent to fair. These are priced at the approximate scrap value of the silver.

This circa 1865, 7 3/16" long, coin silver preserve or jelly spoon is a fine example of A. & W. Wood's (NY) Dew Drop. The pattern incorporates bell flower, scroll, and leaf detailing set against a smooth ground. The bowl of this piece is especially appealing. It is artfully engraved with a pear and cherries (?). The border is scalloped and the interior retains traces of an original gold wash. There is a script monogram that may be "MJHJ." The condition is excellent. Pattern detail remains... Here is a fine example of 18th century Irish silversmithing, with bright-cut and wriggle-work engraving. Made by Robert Calderwood of Dublin in 1799, as hallmarked on the base. In very good condition and no inscriptions or monograms in the cartouches.
Dimensions: 6.5" by 4.25" by 5" high or 7.75" to top of handle. Weight 8 Troy oz.

Here is a fine sterling brandy pan and cover made by John Wakelin and Robert Garrard in 1795.
This is equivalent to a "super group" of 18th century silversmiths, because both Wakelin and Garrard, excellent silversmiths in their own right, are descendants of great silversmith dynasties. Their short, but illustrious, partnership ran from 1792 to 1802.
