Coffin-end mustard ladle by Wm. Burr, Prov., 1805-10
Silver: Coin Silver: Flatware: Coffin-End
North Hill Antiques
264 $175
We come across these small coffin-end ladles -- mustards, gravy, sauce -- from time to time and they all seem to be made in New England, particularly in the City of Providence. It is for that reason (and the lack of any other candidate) that we attribute this neat piece to William Burr (see pix of WB mark). This ladle has a cut-cornered fiddle end and is 5-1/4" long. The mono is C L in feathered script. Condition is excellent throughout.

Set of 6 forward-tipt fiddle-handled teaspoons with flared shoulders. Feathered script mono J.L.C. on front; 5-7/8" long, excellent condition. Monumental Rare English Sterling Figural Covered Cup.
Silver: Sterling: Hollowware
Albion Antiques Ltd
UKN10 SOLD
This is a fabulous cup. I have been admiring the sheer extravagance of the workmanship for the past week and I am beginning to feel like Gollum and the Ring. The center has two panels of mythological scenes. One is of Diana the huntress. The other is of Apollo-Helios, the Sun God, also known as Sol Invictus. Both are on horse-driven chariots surrounded by nymphs. The scenes are of such high relief they practically leap out of the cup. These panels are swathed with heavy floral wreaths. The handl...
