This is quite a robust coin ladle in the fiddle and thread pattern by a firm I had not encountered before, Bennett & Bros, 586 Broadway. I addition on the rear of the fiddle there is an inscribed date of 1852, presumably from when it dates. The top face of the fiddle has had a monogram removed. It has been very professionally done because, at first, one, that's me, would think it was the designed curvature of the handle. The area has even acquired its own patina. Made by R & W Wilson and shipped west. Forward-tipt fiddle handles with high pointed shoulders; script engraving on front: Ray Co. A. S.; 5-1/4" long. Condition is excellent. A search discloses only one Ray County in the U.S. of A., and that honor belongs to Missouri. Ray Co. is in the western part of the state, not far from Kansas City.

Marked GEARY&WEALE (retailer?). Mark condition very good. Overall condition excellent - minor nicks, probably to test silver.

An early pair of Georgian sterling tablespoons by the Lady herself, dated 1787. They are fully marked and bear a scrolling monogram EL. One is in extremely good condition without any tipwear and the other one has been used ! Well its not that bad. Slight tip-wear, a couple of dings in the bowl and a just discernible maker's mark. 8.5" long.
